On my WordPress site I’ve posted the first installment of a new graphic novella called After the Fire. I’ll be serializing it there as time goes on. The text is complete and all the principal drawings have been finished, so it’s a matter of polishing artwork and assembling the final pages.

A visual poetry project I've gotten back to work on.

My father died in the summer of 2021 after a long decline that saw his mind fall away piece by piece. It was awful to be part of & also tender. His guarded philosopher heart lost some of its armour in those last months, and he was able, as his being came to a close, to say & show more brightly how he loved us, who loved him. i want violetshine to be angrier actually. i want her to hold grudges. i want her to still carry that anger and resentment against all the cats who hurt her. she unsheathes her claws at the mere mention of darktail or sleekwhisker or even rowanclaw or bramblestar. she daydreams about how things could have been different if she had fought back sooner. she imagines what it would have been like to kill them, and then she feels guilty and horrible for thinking that.

i want her to struggle with forgiveness. she has such a hard time forgiving twigbranch for things that she knows were not her fault. she feels guilty for forgiving needletail more than her even tho needle did way worse. she struggles to reconcile with her unhealthy attachment to/idolization of needletail and how it relates to her perception of twigbranch. this whole time, she always felt closer to needletail and thought of her as the "better" sister, even tho she was hurting her. she knows, deep down, that needle was still an impressionable apprentice, but she cant help but hate herself for being so willing to make excuses for needle while still holding on to those feelings of resentment for twig.

i want her to be confused. i want her to have so many complicated emotions about everyone in her life. she feels terrified and angry and awful and she hates herself for it. shes an emotionally complex mess and has no idea how to properly manage her feelings. shes scared. shes an adult but she still feels like a lost kit struggling to fit in. shes scared of the world and shes scared of other people and shes scared of herself. do you Understand my vision

Up next is a long-overdue new ref sheet for Ravenpaw.

For his physical description, Ravenpaw is described as sleek, plump tom with a long, thin tail. Yeah, I know everyone always draws him super skinny and he's described that way in Into the Wild, but in Fire and Ice Fireheart describes him as sleek and plump and totally different from how skinny and dull he looked while living in ThunderClan. I didn't make him super plump, just a nice healthy weight and an average-ish build. The scarring on his shoulder is from the Sunningrocks battle that killed Redtail, we see him with the injured shoulder in Into the Wild.

For his pattern, Ravenpaw is described as a black tom with a tiny white dash on his chest and a white-tipped tail. Not much here, just changed his eyes to green from the amber I had on his old sheet.

Overall, I'm fairly happy with how he turned out.

News on twitter about tales from the pizzaplex graphic novel #1 coming out next year (March 4, 2025). It has “under construction”, “HAPPS”, and “Cleithrophobia”.

I think the 2nd or 3rd graphic novel will have the GGY story. If they do have the story in graphic novel then I will be super excited.

One problem thought: They better NOT get a shitty artist or writer to fuck him up.

Anyway, I think they shouldn’t show Gregory’s head, but just his lower body as a mystery, and then his face at the very end.

Btw: THERE IS POTENTIAL OF CANON MODEL OF TONY BECKER AND ELLIS!!!

Me imagining a scene of Tony and Gregory together alone = Beckory

I can’t wait.

There’s also another story that I would hope gets in the graphic novel, and that being “drowning” from the 6th book.

One last thing: Imagine that it wasn’t Gregory at all it was just a completely different person, and it was evil twin/doppelgänger. That would be funny, and stupid.

a ggy graphic novel would be so great because like. more Gregory art. but also theyd fuck Tony and ellis up SOO much and I just would not want to deal with them technically having shitty canon designs after using my fanon design this whole time. there is no maybe theyd 100% mess them up.

but DAMN I'd probably be just excited for the last couple pages of ggy in comic form!! page 69 is such a good interaction between tony and ggy. itd be cool to see drawn out

and as for that concept at the end of ur ask... I wouldnt be laughing lmao
